Community Development Relief & Rebuilding Fund

About the Community Development Relief & Rebuilding Fund

To help community development credit unions (CDCUs) and their members in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina & Rita, the Federation established the Community Development Relief & Rebuilding Fund.  Our staff and Board made initial contributions to start the Fund, and organizationally, the Federation assisted stricken CDCUs by waiving interest payments on any Federation funds previously invested with them.

In all, nearly $1 million was raised to assist CDCUs, and all contributions made to our fund were directed to CDCUs serving communities affected by Hurricanes Katrina & Rita.  Contributions were used to help CDCU members in desperate need and to keep affected CDCUs alive so they could continue to serve and rebuild their communities.

We want to stress that no contributions were used for administrative or any other expenses of the Federation.

The Federation is a federally recognized and charitable organization (501[c][3]) and your contributions are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law.
